According to the latest statistics published by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), Germany reported 19,990 new coronavirus infections on Thursday.
This is the Record daily rise in new virus cases, despite “soft lockdown” already underway.
The total count now stands at 597,583 this Thursday. On Wednesday, the total count increased by 17,214.
The death toll has risen by 118, with the total count accelerating to 10,930. Meanwhile, active cases in the country amount to 185,000.
France registered 40,558 new cases on Wednesday compared to the increase of 36,330 on Tuesday and after a record 52,518 on Monday, data from the Health Ministry have shown.
