The CDU/CSU and the Greens leave the SPD well behind in voter preference. In Sunday’s trend survey conducted by polling institute Insa for the “Bild am Sonntag” newspaper, the CDU and CSU reach 27% – one percentage point more than last week.
The situation is very different for the coalition parties with traffic lights: The Greens also increased their rating by 8%. The chancellor’s party, the SPD, on the other hand, loses one point to just 18%.
The last time the SPD did worse in an Insa survey was before the most recent Bundestag elections: On August 9, 2021, the party recorded an approval rating of 17.5%. After that, things skyrocketed: On Election Sunday, September 26, 2021, the party reached 25.7%, and then the figure reached 28.5% (October 11). As of June 20, 2022, the party remains consistently below 20%.
According to the Insa survey, 5% of Germans would still vote for the Left Party if a general election were held today. AfD (12%) could win one unit. The other parties would win 7% (minus two percentage points) of the vote.
