Germany: 23-year-old man arrested at Bremen central station who threatened 2 train passengers with a knife

Germany’s federal police arrested a man who threatened two train passengers with a knife at Bremen’s central station yesterday. According to initial reports, the 23-year-old from Witmund, Lower Saxony, had “various dangerous items” on him when he was arrested and had previously pointed a folding knife at two young women on a train that was about to depart for Hamburg. He then put the knife in his pocket and tried to escape by boarding another train at the station, bound for Munich. Passing by, they alerted the police, who located him and arrested him. According to the online edition of the Bild newspaper, the 23-year-old, who had no previous involvement with the authorities, was dressed in a suit and tie, but had painted his face in the colors of a military camouflage.
