The German comedian who lives in Brazil, Lea Maria, published a video on her social networks in which she claims to have been a victim of domestic violence. She filed a complaint against her husband, Juliano Gaspar, who is also a comedian.
In the video published on Instagram on Wednesday (8), Lea Maria appears with a sling on her arm and says that she is going through a very difficult and delicate moment, but that she is not alone. “I am yet another victim of domestic violence. Physical and psychological,” reads the caption.
“I wanted to reassure you because I am accompanied by my family, friends and health and legal professionals. I ask that you respect my situation and I thank you for all the affection”, she says.
The comedian’s lawyer, Cristiano Medina, confirmed that Lea Maria is accusing her husband of committing the attacks, and said that she filed a police report on February 3 and has already passed the forensic examination.
Medina also informed that the procedures for the divorce are being carried out and that she should not comment on the details of the physical and psychological aggression, on medical advice.
The Public Security Secretariat of São Paulo reported that the case was registered by the 2nd Women’s Police Station (DDM) and forwarded to the 1st DDM, responsible for the area. A police investigation was initiated to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fact, with a view to holding the perpetrator accountable.
The couple made humorous videos for the internet and also jointly hosted the stand-up comedy show “Bad Trip”.
A CNN contacted the defense of Juliano Gaspar, but has not yet received a response.
