The border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt was reopened this Monday morning (6) so that foreigners can leave the most critical region of the conflict between Israel and Hamas. The Rafah crossing had been closed since Sunday (5).
The information was confirmed to CNN by the Brazilian Representation in Palestine and by sources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Itamaraty is now awaiting the publication of the authorization list to cross the border and hopes that Brazilians will be included.
Itamaraty monitors the situation of the 34 Brazilians in Rafah and Khan Younis. Families report progressive difficulties in accessing water, food and basic survival items for more than two weeks.
