Emergency coordinator of the NGO Médicos Without Border (MSF), Amande Biszerolle, said in a press release on Wednesday (16), that the Gaza track became a “common ditch for Palestinians and those trying to help them.”
“We watched in real time the destruction and forced displacement of the entire population,” said Bisitolle.
The organization points out that, blocking humanitarian aid on the site, the Israeli government destroys the necessary conditions to live in Gaza.
According to the NGO, the siege of Israel has sold out food, fuel and medicine reserves. Thus, Gaza faces a shortage of products needed for the medical treatment of Palestinians.
The organization denounces that the lack of fuel refueling at the enclave can cause hospital activities to be stopped.
“Palestinians and people who try to help them are not safe anywhere. The humanitarian response is severely obstructed by insecurity and shortage of supplies, which leaves few or no options to access care,” adds the coordinator.
According to the NGO, 11 employees from Doctors Without Borders have died since the beginning of the conflict.
Amande Biszerolle said that “this massacre of humanitarian workers illustrates the way war is led against the population and those who try to help.”
“Israeli authorities deliberately prevent any help from the Gaza range for over a month. Humanitarian workers have been witnesses to the suffering and death of many Palestinians,” explains Bisitolle.
For the coordinator, impunity benefits Israel thanks to the silence and “unconditional” support of its allies.
She adds: “This is not a humanitarian failure, but a political choice and a deliberate attack on a people, made with all impunity.”
The without border doctors asks the Israeli authorities to cease the “collective punishment” against the Palestinians.
Understand the conflict in the Gaza Strip
Israel has carried out intense air strikes in the Gaza range since last year, after Hamas has invaded the country and killed 1,200 people, according to Israeli counts.
In addition, the radical group maintains dozens of hostages. Hamas does not recognize Israel as a state and claims Israeli territory for Palestine.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has promised to destroy Hamas military capabilities and recover people detained in Gaza.
In addition to the aerial offensive, the Israeli army makes terrestrial forays into Palestinian territory. This caused much of the population of Gaza to be moved.
The UN and various humanitarian institutions warned of a catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, lacking food, medicine and disease dissemination.
The Israeli population makes constant protests against Netanyahu, accusing the premie of failing to make a ceasefire agreement for the hostages to be released.
