After the entry into force of the reduction in values at Petrobras refineries, gasoline prices on the domestic market practically equaled those on the international market, according to a report released this Thursday (21) by the Brazilian Association of Fuel Importers (Abicom).
According to the entity, the difference on Wednesday, at the end of the day, was 0.01 reais per liter of gasoline A (pure, without the addition of anhydrous ethanol).
On Monday, before Petrobras’ announcement, this difference was 0.30 reais.
The liter of diesel A (pure, without the addition of biodiesel) — which was not adjusted by Petrobras — is costing, on average, 0.13 reais more expensive in the domestic market in relation to the imported product.
If this difference remains, there would, in theory, be room for the oil company to also reduce the price of diesel at refineries, following the Import Parity Parity (PPI) policy.
