Gang ordered attacks against judges, delegates and prosecutors

An operation was launched on Friday morning in Tocantins against a criminal organization that planned attacks against public assets and state authorities, including judges, prosecutors, delegates and criminal police.

The integrated force to combat organized crime in Tocantins fulfilled seven search and seizure warrants in prisons in the cities of Palmas, Araguaína and Cariri. The warrants are served by federal, civil, military and criminal police.

According to the Federal Police, the investigations revealed that leaders of the criminal organization ordered attacks on authorities and police from inside the prisons, as well as planning a mass escape through a hostage rebellion.

The investigated facts configure the crimes of integrating criminal organization; threat; false alarm; Apology of crime or criminal; and attempt, with the use of violence or serious threat, to abolish the Democratic Rule of Law, whose maximum punishable penalties exceed 16 years of imprisonment.
