A Chinese car with Toyota units is probably the dream of many. And if such a description could be found at the dawn of the Chinese auto market, then GAC does not hesitate to use it for its new Trumpchi Emkoo crossover.

GAC Trumpchi Emkoo is not some budget car with old components from the Japanese giant. We are talking about a crossover with a futuristic and aggressive design and a hybrid power plant as one of the options.

The hybrid is powered by GAC’s own 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and fourth-generation THS (Toyota Hybrid System) electromechanical variator, which is also used in Toyota and Lexus vehicles.

Turbocharged engines 1.5 TGDI and 2.0 TGDI are also available, aggregated respectively by a robotic gearbox and the classic Aisin hydromechanical automatic machine. Unfortunately, the GAC does not speak about the power of any of the versions. In this case, in all cases, the car is exclusively front-wheel drive.
Separately, we can note the laconic and very unusual interior with a very large screen of the multimedia system. Judging by the design of a number of details, design is one of the strengths of the car.

In China, the crossover will be released before the end of this year, and on the global market next year.
