Fury in Britain: The moment Meghan jokes about bowing to Elizabeth – Harry “barred”

Her documentary Meghan Markle and his prince harry on Netflix has sparked reactions in Britain and an event that has upset the British, is the moment when the Duchess of Sussex joked about the bow she had made to Queen Elizabeth.

According to dailymail.co.ukMeghan said she first met the Queen during a meal at the Royal Lodge in Windsor shortly after she and the Duke revealed they were dating in 2016. But she said the whole occasion looked like an antiquated banquet in Medieval Timesa family dinner theater in the US with staged medieval games, sword fights and pole fights.

In fact, the Queen was the first high-ranking member of the royal family Meghan met after she and Prince Harry announced their relationship in 2016. “She had no idea what it was all about,” Harry says in the documentary. “So it was a bit of a shock for her.”

Then, smiling, Megan added, “I mean, it’s surreal. He didn’t tell me “Now you will meet my grandmother”. I didn’t know I would meet her. We were in the car going to the Royal Lodge for lunch and he (Harry) said, “Oh, my grandma’s here, she’ll be there after church.”

I remember we were in the car, we were driving and he said: “You know how to bow, don’t you?”. And I thought it was a joke». And then Harry took the floor to continue, “How do you explain this to people? How do you explain bowing to your grandmother? And that you have to bow down, especially to an American. This is strange.”

And Megan continued: “Now I’m starting to realize that this is a big deal. Americans will understand this. It was like a dinner and tournament in Medieval Times. I bowed as if to say… “Nice to meet you, Your Majesty”. It was so intense. And when he left, Eugenia, Jack and Fergie said “you did great!”. Thanks. I didn’t know what I was doing.”

Meghan then reenacted the bow and Harry was taken aback by his wife’s gesture, as he had a special fondness for his grandmother.
