Funds movement detected at addresses linked to Mt. Gox

On August 13, 2024, a wallet that received 33,105 BTC from the bankrupt crypto exchange Mt. Gox transferred $5.88 worth of bitcoins to another address, according to Arkham Intelligence. Experts have suggested that the address likely belongs to the BitGo cryptocurrency exchange.

“The wallet that received $2.19 billion in bitcoin from Mt. Gox just started test transactions. It likely belongs to BitGo, the fifth and final exchange working with Mt. Gox to distribute funds to creditors. Are they going to distribute funds to creditors?” the experts wrote.

It should be noted that the rate of the first cryptocurrency has hardly reacted to this news. At the time of writing, the asset is trading near the $59,150 mark.

In late July 2024, the bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange Mt. Gox sent 33,964 BTC to an unknown address.
