The French president Emanuel Macron visited today the husband of the policeman who lost his life yesterday, Friday, in a knife attack in Rambouillet, near Paris, to support her “very disturbed and very dignified” family, the presidency announced.
He had previously met this morning with Rambouillet police chief Thierry Roznowski to express “his full support, as well as that of fellow police officers,” the presidency told AFP.
The head of state promised on Friday that he would not “retreat in any way”, after a policeman was stabbed to death at the Rambouillet police station by a man who was shot dead by a police officer.
The competent ministers and services (Interior, Justice, Armed Forces) under the French Prime Minister Jean Castex are expected to participate in a ministerial meeting today.
No briefing is currently scheduled after the end of this meeting, according to the prime minister.
Jean Castex went to a police station in Toulouse (south) this morning to reiterate the “complete determination of the state” in the fight against the terrorist threat.
The first indications from the environment of the perpetrator of the attack at the police station of Rambouillet continued today and are expected to help the investigators to design the profile of the man, unknown to the police and the secret services, who killed a police officer with a knife on Friday.
