At Mobile World Congress 2022, Huawei introduced several products such as the Matebook X Pro laptop and the Huawei MatePad Paper tablet with an e-ink screen. The company also launched the Huawei Sound Joy smart speaker.
The wireless speaker was developed in collaboration with the French audio technology company Devialet and has a compact cylindrical body. The Sound Joy consists of 4 speakers including a 20W full range speaker, a 10W tweeter and two passive radiators. This speaker setup is capable of producing 79 dBA of sound at a distance of 2 m.
The column supports Bluetooth 5.2 and codecs such as AAC and SBC. It meets the degree of protection IP67, that is, it can be submerged to a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes. The speaker’s large 8800 mAh battery promises a playback time of 26 hours. The speaker can be charged with an ultra-fast 40W charging power, providing an hour of playback in just 10 minutes of charging.
The Huawei Sound Joy also comes with quite useful and intuitive features such as shaking to pair, touching the phone to share a track instantly, and proximity-based auto-detection. It has a dedicated key to activate your phone’s smart voice assistant for notes, reminders, information requests and more.
Bluetooth-column has a height of 202 mm, a diameter of 73 mm and weighs 680 grams. Most of its outer part is made of a special fabric that provides reliable protection for all types of outdoor activities.
The Huawei Sound Joy costs €149 and is available in Obsidian Black and Spruce Green.
