Four new members are appointed to the BNDES Board of Directors

The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) took another step in its succession after the change in the federal government, with the appointment of four new members to its Board of Directors.

The new members were appointed by the Board of Directors, on Thursday (19).

Among the new members are former Minister of the Environment Izabella Teixeira and engineer Carlos Nobre, a scientist specializing in climate change and a member of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

Their names had already been announced by the future president of the BNDES, Aloizio Mercadante, who has not yet been named.

The other two new members appointed on Thursday (19) are the Secretary of the Federal Revenue, Robinson Barreirinhas, a member of the team of the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, and the lawyer Jean Keiji Uema, of the team of the Minister of the Institutional Relations Secretariat. , Alexandre Padilha.

According to the BNDES, the four new directors were appointed in the vacancies after the resignation, on Monday, the 16th, of former members of the Board of Directors.

Fábio de Barros Pinheiro, Heloisa Bedicks, João Laudo de Camargo and Sonia Consiglio, all appointed during the previous management of the BNDES, resigned from their positions.

Last week, the Development Bank’s Board of Directors swore in four new directors – out of a total of eight already announced by Mercadante.

The former president of Banco do Brasil (BB) Alexandre Abreu, the former president of Embrapii José Luis Gordon, the former chief minister of the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU) Luiz Navarro and the former -Minister of Planning and Finance Nelson Barbosa.
