Former President of Peru was sentenced to 15 years in prison for illegal funding of his election campaign

Peruvian justice today condemned former President Umala and his wife to 15 years in prison for illegal funding of his campaign by Brazilian construction giant. Ogia Umala and Nandine Ereti were found guilty of receiving money from the Odebrecht construction company – now known as Novonor – for the 2011 election campaign. Peru.
