THE ex-BBB Leidy Elin vented on social media and revealed that he had developed depression after reality show .
When opening a question box on Instagram stories, the former BBB was asked about her mental health after confinement and replied: “I got depressed and I fight against it every day. The depression came a month after I left the program.”
“I never had psychological problems before joining the reality show, I tried to commit suicide after two months on the show, almost no one knows about this event, only the closest of the intimate ones”, he added.
According to Leidy, the depression was not caused by the negative comments she herself received after BBB, but rather by the comments received by her family.
“My mother receives threats and ends up in the hospital every day, at risk of having a heart attack. When I first met her, she was simply drugged so she wouldn’t get nervous. Today we discovered that she has developed a heart problem, something she’s never had before,” she said.
Leidy also highlighted the effect of the racial attacks she received on her mental health.
“The internet is becoming more and more [mais] a sick place,” he wrote.
She also sent a message to influencers who attack other people on their accounts: “Here’s a tip for you, influencers: pay close attention before you go to your social media to spew hate at anyone. Don’t like someone? Don’t follow them, don’t consume their content. Because you could be influencing an attack just for the hype and the person could end up committing suicide because of your actions.”
“Today, my support network is my family and my boyfriend, who dropped everything to try to take care of me,” she said. “And I can only thank my psychologist for never giving up on me.”
