A serious accident resulted in death of five people on the afternoon of Sunday (13), on BR-365, height of km 693, in Monte Alegre de Minas, interior of the state.
A car with signs from Goiânia (GO), where he traveled a family and another woman, crashed violently against a truck that was stopped on the side of the highway.
According to the Fire Department, the impact of the collision caused the immediate death of four people: a 45 -year -old woman, a 34 -year -old man (rear seat passenger) and a 9 -year -old child, all belonging to the same family. In the vehicle was also a 31 -year -old woman who was occupying the front passenger seat, whose relationship with the other victims is still under investigation.
A second child, also 9 years old, was rescued with vital signs by the rescue teams. However, despite the resuscitation attempts made at the scene, it did not resist the severity of the injuries and passed away.
The trailer driver informed the authorities that he had stopped on the side of the road to check tire calibration using a rubber hammer. About a minute after the stop, he witnessed the collision and immediately triggered the concessionaire responsible for the stretch.
Concessionaire teams, together with rescuers from SAMU of Monte Alegre de Minas and Military Fire Department garrisons, provided care at the scene of the accident.
The bodies of the victims were sent to the Monte Alegre de Minas funeral home. The Federal Highway Police (PRF) was present to control traffic and record the occurrence. The trailer driver was not injured and was released.
The highway was fully released after the removal of vehicles and cleaning the track. The causes of the accident will be investigated by the competent authorities.
