Five of the seven occupants of military helicopter of Guyana which was lost from the radar yesterday Wednesday near the border with Venezuela were killed in its crash, the reasons for which are still unknown, President Irfan Ali announced Thursday, amid the ongoing crisis over the disputed Essequibo region.
The head of state spoke about “tragic loss of five of our best men”listing the names of fallen soldiers via Instagram.
Guyana’s military, which earlier said it had “no information to indicate” that Venezuela was responsible for the incident, announced that conduct “research” for the helicopter crash.
