Five people were killed from falling a lift at a construction site on its outskirts Stockholmannounced today the public prosecutor’s office of the Swedish capital, which is conducting manslaughter investigation caused by violation of safety regulations. The accident occurred on Monday morning in the Sødbiberg suburb of the Swedish capital, when an elevator fell from a height of about 20 meters.
A 14-storey building complex is being built at the site on behalf of real estate consultancy CBRE. The construction company Andersson Company is responsible for compliance with safety regulations at the construction site, according to APE-MPE.
At the time of the accident, approx 50 artisans were working on this construction site. “It is tragic that five people have died and our thoughts are with their families,” said Byggnads union representative Thomas Kulberg.
