A new portrait of the British prince William and your wife Kate Middleton was released this Thursday (23), the first official work of art to present the couple destined to be king and queen of the United Kingdom.
The painting, by artist Jamie Coreth, shows William, second in line to the throne behind his father Prince Charles, in a dark suit and Kate wearing a long emerald gown.
“As it is the first painting to depict them together, and specifically during their time as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, I wanted the image to evoke a sense of balance between their public and private lives,” said Coreth.
William and Kate were able to see the portrait on Thursday during a visit to Cambridge, where it is on display at the Fitzwilliam Museum at the local university. The work will also be briefly on loan to the National Portrait Gallery next year.
