First medical SPA in Brazil, Lapinha wins another international award

First medical SPA in Brazil, the Lapinha SPA located in Paraná won the category best health program in an award organized by the Spa & Wellness MexiCaribe Magazine, considered one of the main honors of the sector in Latin America, Mexico and the Caribbean.

The result of the award was published in the magazine’s autumn edition, and to reach the grand finale, Lapinha competed with several Latin American, Mexican and Caribbean spas, being the only Brazilian enterprise to compete in the award.

The space, which turns 50 in 2022, had already been awarded this year. It was elected as the Best Independent Spa in the World, and in 2021 as the Most Sustainable Spa in the World, both by the World Spa & Wellness Awards.

It was also the first Brazilian spa to win the discerning international seal Healing Hotels of the World and also the Condé Nast Johansens seal, which brings together the best destinations such as spas and boutique hotels, among others. Also in 2014, it won the awards for Best Wellness Destination in South America and Best Wellness Destination in Brazil by the Wellness Travel Awards, carried out by the renowned Spafinder, from London.

“We are delighted to be recognized as one of the best spas in Latin America, the Caribbean and Mexico. We have physical and mental health care as one of our pillars, and we know that for the wellness experience to be complete it is necessary taking care not only of the human being, but also of the community and the planet, in an integrative approach”, celebrates Dieter Brepohl, CEO of the company.

This year’s awards had fifteen categories and revealed the best results in the region, increasing knowledge and awareness of the wellness industry among tourism, health and hospitality specialists, as well as informing the population of the programs and benefits practiced at the participating Spas.

A pioneer in the practice of integrative medicine in Brazil for 50 years, the SPA is the first clinic and medical spa in the country. Its history began in the 1970s, when the Brazilian of German descent, Margarida Bornschein Langer, experienced the benefits of naturist medicine in Switzerland. Excited with the results, she returned to Brazil, determined to build a center to spread the treatment.

With a specialized team, the space seeks to treat the health of the body as a whole, in search of vitality and well-being at all stages of life. In its activity grid, activities that balance the body and mind are prioritized, such as: meditation and relaxation exercises, mindfulness, long walks at dawn, yoga, functional circuit, among others.
