Fire in commercial buildings in the 25 de Março region is controlled in SP

A fire of great proportions, which hit commercial buildings in the region of Rua 25 de Março, in downtown São Paulo, was brought under control this Monday morning (11) since Sunday night (10).

The occurrence was recorded around 9 pm on Sunday (10), at number 95 of Rua Barão de Duprat, in the Sé neighborhood.

At around 8 am this Monday (11), the Fire Department reported that the fire was extinguished by the teams, which are now working in the aftermath phase.

According to the latest update from the corporation, 25 vehicles and 65 firefighters are still at the scene because of the fire.

Two firefighters were injured with 2nd degree burns during work, but they are conscious and were taken to the Tatuapé Emergency Room.

The massive fire also affected traffic in the region.

The São Paulo Traffic Engineering Company (CET) recommended that drivers avoid the region, which had some nearby streets closed.

SPTrans announced that six bus lines that pass through the 25 de Março region are being diverted because of the fire.

From the Post Office, 5107/10 Term. Sacomã – Praça do Correio and 5141/10 Term. Sapopemba – Pça. From the Correio are ceasing to travel along Rua da Cantareira, between Av. Sen. Queirós and Parque D. Pedro II, following Av. Mercury, Av. of the State and accessing the Pq. D. Pedro II”, informed SPTrans.
