The administration of the popular Telegram messenger received another large fine in Russia. According to the press service of the Tagansky District Court of Moscow, Telegram Messenger Inc. found guilty of an administrative offense and fined 4 million rubles.

The violation consists in the refusal to delete information prohibited by Russian law.
Earlier, Telegram was already fined 35 million rubles for refusing to remove prohibited content. Thus, the total amount of Telegram fines due to unremoved content has grown to 39 million rubles.
Note that since the beginning of the year, Roskomnadzor has begun to actively draw up administrative protocols for popular social networks and instant messengers that do not actively cooperate with regard to prohibited content. Google, for example, is already facing a turnover fine.
