The new feature film Wagner Moura , “Civil war” , hit theaters in the United States on Friday (12) and topped the box office throughout the weekend, grossing US$25.7 million. The production also marked the biggest debut of a film from production company A24 in the country.
The Brazilian actor plays a Reuters journalist in the plot, who is covering a civil war in the USA. Along with three colleagues, he is on his way to Washington DC to try to have an interview with the President before the opposition arrives and ousts him from power.
Names like Kirsten Dunst (“Spider man”), Stephen McKinley Henderson (“Dune”), Cailee Spaeny (“Priscilla”) and Jesse Plemons (“Attack of the Dogs”) also make up the cast.
The direction is Alex Garland known for his work on “Ex_Machina: Artificial Instinct” (2014) and “Annihilation” (2018).
