Through a video, recorded at Los Angeles Airport, in the United States, the actress is grateful for the film’s impact.
“I’m returning home after completing part of the launch marathon for ‘I’m Still Here’ and very happy to know that the film reached one million viewers in Brazil in record time. I’m very happy. Very grateful, and I hope this chain continues from this collective experience of seeing such a sensitive, beautiful film like this in theaters!”, she said.
During her visit to the USA, the actress attended the Governor Awards on Sunday (17) – a ceremony that traditionally brings together major cinema figures and favorites for a nomination for the award. There, the Oscar Academy registered its presence with a photo on the award’s official profile, which It already has a million likes.
“I’m Still Here” is an adaptation of the book of the same name written by Marcelo Rubens Paiva, known for the book “Feliz Ano Velho” — a great sales success in the 1980s. The story takes place in the 1970s, in the most intense period of the military dictatorship in Brazil, and follows the trajectory of the Paiva family, made up of Rubens (played by Selton Mello), Eunice (played by Fernanda Torres) and their children.
The family’s life is completely transformed when, on one fateful day, Rubens Paiva is taken by undercover soldiers and disappears without leaving a trace .
