Federal Police conducts operation to investigate crimes of ANTT employees

The Federal Police (PF) began, this Tuesday (18), an operation to investigate crimes committed by a civil servant and former members of a commission of the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT).

The police officers serve five search and seizure warrants issued by the courts, in Brasília and São Paulo.

“Acts of corruption committed by an official in an effective position at ANTT and other conduct attributed to former occupants of positions in commission of the Federal Authority are investigated. Compliance with court orders aims to strengthen elements of information already produced in the context of two police investigations,” the PF said in a statement.

The server in question held a technical position, and even held the role of Superintendent of Passengers at ANTT. According to the investigation, he asked for R$ 240 thousand in bribes to a company in the interstate transport sector.

“There are indications that the values of undue requests considered, for example, the degree of profitability of the bus lines on which registration was required by the ANTT”, points out the PF.

In the case of the former members of the investigated commission, the police found indications that they used internal ANTT information for the benefit of private interests.

For example, one of the investigated accessed physical structures and internal systems of ANTT almost 18 thousand times, for about a year, after ending her relationship with the Agency.

The PF investigation was supported by the Federal Comptroller General.

The investigated may answer for the crimes of passive corruption, criminal association, violation of functional secrecy and usurpation of public function.

THE CNN contacted ANTT’s advisory to comment on the operation, but there was still no response.
