Father’s Day (which will be on August 13th) is that date of the year when we take the opportunity to strengthen ties and honor our father figure. Some give gifts, others make surprises and there are even those who like to overcome limits and go on adventures with their father.
Thinking about it, the CNN traveled the world and, with the help of Guinness World Records, put together a list of 11 records broken and held by parents around the world. Look:
1 – Climbing mountains
Our first record comes from Nepal. Dendi Sherpa and his daughter Ngim Chhamji Sherpa were the first father-daughter duo to climb Mount Everest together (featured photo) .
The mark was reached on May 19, 2012, when they reached the summit of the South Summit, a secondary peak of the range.
2 – Defying age
In August 2007, Indian Nanu Ram Jogi celebrated the birth of what he believes is his twenty-first daughter. Girija came into the world when her father was 90 years old, making Nanu the oldest known father.
His first child was born in 1943 and he hoped to have more children until he was 100 years old.
Girija’s mother was the fourth wife of the Indian, and had been married to another son of Nanu who died in 1997.
