Father composes song about experience with autistic son

“If it were easy, it wouldn't be you. My dear, you are, as you should be”, this is the opening verse of the song “Mundo Azul”, released this Tuesday (2), on World Autism Awareness Day. The song was composed by Luccas Soares, father of a boy with autism, who recounts his experience and difficulties through the song's lyrics.

The idea for the composition came from a poor night's sleep due to the agitation of Luccas' four-year-old son, João. In the morning, the already tired parents came across their son wanting to play on the swing and Luccas reacted: “Hey, João, if it were easy, it wouldn't be you”.

From this situation, Luccas, who is the founder of the Anelo Institute, which has been promoting social inclusion through music in Campinas for 23 years, decided to compose a lyric as a way of raising awareness regarding the diagnosis, in addition to showing the challenges faced by parents of people of the autistic spectrum.

Luccas says he suffered depression due to sleep deprivation. “It’s something very difficult to face, and in this process I started composing.”

For the launch of “Mundo Azul”, the institution involved 18 musicians, production and promotion professionals, entities, parents and people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

The name of the song came from the color that symbolizes autism: blue. The proposal is to make the song available free of charge for autism spectrum awareness campaigns.

In addition to the music, now available on all audio platforms, Instituto Anelo will also release a music video on April 9th and an animation on April 16th. In addition to Luccas, the project features the voices of singer Aline Ramos and Amanda Maria, finalist on The Voice.
