Fashion house Louis Vuitton launches its own NFT collection

The French house of Louis Vuitton continues to experiment in the gaming industry. He introduced his own collection of non-fungible tokens as part of Louis: The Game.

The game was first revealed back in August 2021. Gamers can dress up an avatar named Vivienne and collect postcards that tell about the 200-year history of the brand and the life of its founder. Now luxury brand Louis Vuitton has added new quests and rewards to the game in the NFT. Players who have collected a certain amount of collectible tokens will have a chance to participate in the NFT draw, which will last until August 4 (the birthday of the founder of Louis Vuitton). Users can win 30 collectible postcard tokens, each 10 of which have their own design.

These unique tokens were created in collaboration with Wenew Labs, a startup founded by Beeple artist Mike Winkelmann. For the development and implementation of Ethereum smart contracts, Wenew Labs also involved its subsidiary Possible. Louis Vuitton management said that experiments with collectible tokens and the metaverse underline the brand’s status, as well as its commitment to the digital community and its willingness to attract a younger audience. At the same time, the company seeks to control that the introduction of innovations does not harm the environment.

Louis Vuitton is not the only fashion giant to enter the NFT market. At the beginning of the year, fashion magazine L’Officiel announced its readiness to present a collection of virtual clothing created using artificial intelligence (AI) in the Sandbox metaverse. In addition, in February, fashion house Gucci bought a “lot” in The Sandbox to create a virtual fashion world for Generation Z.
