Fascist salute banned says Italy's Supreme Court – Up to 3 years in prison

The Supreme Court her Italy made a final decision today, regarding whether o fascist salute should be considered legal or illegal.

According to the Italian supreme judges, in the case of the fascist salute, the law prohibiting the defense of the fascist regime applies and his ideology and foresees imprisonment of up to three years.

At the same time, the decision states that, under certain conditions, this particular greeting also violates the law that prohibits demonstrations and mobilizations of organizations which have, as their main objectives, the incitement to discrimination, and to racial, ethnic and religious violence.

The first, direct consequence of this decision of the Italian Supreme Court is that participants in 'memorial ceremony' should be retriedwhich took place eight years ago in Milan, during which eight extreme right-wingers had proceeded to make a fascist salute.
