The conquest of the first job and the desire to study medicine. These were dreams interrupted last Wednesday (9), when young Isabelli Helena de Lima Costa and Isabela Priel Regis died run over in the city of São Caetano do Sul, Greater Sao Paulo.
The 18 -year -olds crossed Goiás Avenue, an important road from the city, when they were hit by a vehicle driven by Brendo dos Santos Sampaio, 26. Monitoring camera images show friends near the central flowerbed when they were hit by the car at high speed.
The victims were thrown at a distance of approximately 50 meters. They had gone out to celebrate Isabelle’s first job. The bodies were buried this Friday (11) at the Saudade Cemetery in São Caetano.
Claudilene Helena de Lima, Isabelle’s mother, said she said she was happy to have got her first job. She would start working next Monday in a market.
“I worked, I got home, she helped me prepare the food. She put her scent and went to see her inseparable friend. She was my only daughter. I came to live in São Caetano to give her a better life, not to see her inside a coffin,” he lamented.
Marcos Antônio dos Santos Regis, Isabela’s father, says that the daughter had the dream of attending medicine and being pediatrician. He was proud of his daughter’s dedication to studies.
“I was very proud that she was almost concluding the nursing course, which was a way to teach her a little discipline for her to study. She wanted to do medicine and would start her cram.
Brendo had the pre-trial detention decreed on Thursday (10), after undergoing a custody hearing. The driver’s defense classified the arrest as a “fatality” and stressed that the young women crossed the avenue “when the traffic light was red.”
For the defense of the families of the young women, the argument of the defense of Brendo does not justify the run over.
