The report from the Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention Center (Cenipa) on the cause of a helicopter crash in the interior of São Paulo should only be completed in 2025.
According to sources from the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), work like this lasts, on average, a year and a half.
This was, for example, the time it took the Cenipa team to complete the report on the crash of the aircraft carrying singer Marília Mendonça to Caratinga (MG).
The bodies of the four victims of the accident with the PR-HDB helicopter – which had been missing since December 31st and was found on the afternoon of this Friday (12th) in a forest area of Paraibuna (SP) – have already been recovered. ransomed.
The work now focuses on collecting data and samples from the aircraft structure to look for elements that can help understand the reasons for the accident.
“The conclusion of the investigations will take as short a time as possible, always depending on the complexity of each occurrence and, also, the need to discover possible contributing factors”, says a note released by the FAB.
Data from Cenipa show that, in the last 10 years, there were 191 air accidents involving helicopters in Brazil.
