Euskaltel has signed an agreement with Orange that will allow the company of Basque origin to offer its customers throughout Spain 5G mobile technology as a Virtual Mobile Operator (MVNO) hosted on the Orange network from January 1, 2022. The parties will be able to negotiate the advancement of this date to the moment when Orange launches the 5G service on a commercial level in a massive way, as Euskaltel has communicated.
This signing constitutes a new advance in the agreements signed with Orange announced on December 13, 2019, when Euskaltel reported that it had signed the renewal of its wholesale agreements with the French operator in Spain, for both fixed and mobile networks.
In this way, the Euskaltel Group guarantees its customers access to the most advanced mobile telecommunications services through a 5G quality network, and ensures that it has the necessary capacity to be able to respond to all new mobile data service needs.
The new agreement has the same duration as those previously subscribed for the IPO service currently in force with Orange, that is, June 2024.
The CEO of the Euskaltel Group, José Miguel GarcÃa, has indicated that this firm “allows to guarantee access to the most advanced 5G technological networks” in order to offer “products and services of the highest quality and value”.
