The European Police Service, Europol, announced that it is launching a coordinated multinational operation to tackle the problem of criminal gangs that are recruiting children to commit violent crimes. Gangs use coded language on social networks and messaging applications to identify and recruit minors with the promise of large sums of money, Europol warns. When recruited, children are used by gangs for a wide range of services, drug trafficking, violent blackmail to killing. This tactic allows older gang members to outsource the dirty jobs elsewhere to stay out of the target of class forces.
