EU to impose tariffs on US imports in WTO Boeing case

The European Union will begin imposing tariffs on US imports worth $ 4 billion starting on Tuesday, following the World Trade Organization ruling on subsidies for Boeing, announced Monday the EU Trade Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis, according to Reuters.

Furthermore, Dombrovskis called on the United States to abandon existing trade measures.

Market reaction

This development does not appear to have an impact on market sentiment, as risk flows continue to dominate markets on the optimism of the coronavirus vaccine. At time of writing, the Euro Stoxx 50 Index was up 6.3% on the day and Germany’s DAX 30 was up 5.7%.
