After 17 years in the market, the decoration and furniture chain Etna announced this Friday (25) that “it is planning to close its activities”. The company currently operates with four physical stores and an e-commerce platform.
The points of sale will be closed gradually until the end of the first semester. The store on Avenida Berrini, in São Paulo, and the company’s website will continue selling until stocks are exhausted.
The company sent customers, via e-mail, a notice of closure, followed by the announcement of a total sale of inventories, with discounts of up to 90%.
The abandonment of the deal comes after about a decade of trying to make the project to compete with giants like Tok&Stok “happen”. Etna has been offered to various investors over time, to no avail.
In the note confirming the business closure process, Etna states that “it belongs to a successful retail business group and will discontinue its operations in the best possible way, fulfilling all its commitments to its employees, customers, suppliers and providers. of service”.
THE Broadcast Column showed recently that the company had been closing stores, in addition to keeping the remaining four with empty shelves, while not finding buyers for the business. The company belongs to the family that founded the business, the Kauffmans, who also own the Vivara jewelry chain.
