Erdogan calls Putin on grain exports via the Black Sea

Its president Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan appeared optimistic today that Russia and Ukraine will establish a solution-oriented partnership and that resolving the grain crisis through a constructive approach will encourage a return to negotiations.

In the phone call he had with the Russian president Vladimir Putin Erdogan assured that Ankara will take “necessary initiatives” with all sides to resolve problems related to the implementation of the Black Sea grain export agreement.

According to the Turkish presidency, Erdogan and Putin discussed regional issues, particularly recent developments in the Russia-Ukraine war.

Moscow announced on Sunday that it was suspending its participation in the agreement under which Ukrainian grain exports from Ukrainian ports had resumed.
