“Emily in Paris”: actress projects cultural shock that the protagonist would have in Brazil

The French actress Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu 61, has visited Brazil several times and spent time in Paraty, Rio de Janeiro, this year to film a movie. In an interview with CNN she gave her opinion on what would be the biggest cultural shock for the protagonist of “Emily in Paris” if she visited the country.

“She’s so organized, she’d freak out. I’m not saying that [o Brasil] It’s not organized, but it’s organized in a different way. She would freak out, because it’s not to her standard. He’d be like, ‘Take it easy, guys. Why are you drinking so much, dancing so much, singing so much?'” he said.

“But she would probably love it. She’s always amazed by everything. One thing about Emily is that she’s always like, ‘Oh,’ when she finds out about things. She would like to, but she would be like, ‘Wow, you guys need to learn from me.’ That’s what she does in France, too,” he continued.

Still talking about the protagonist, but now about the events of the new episodes, the interpreter of Sylvie sent a message to the character played by Lily Collins : “Just keep going, Emily.” THE Part 1 of the fourth season of “Emily in Paris” premieres this Thursday (15) on Netflix .

Philippine also gave similar advice to her own character: “Stop running away from your life and try to make choices.” She said that all the women on the show are unable to make choices.

Speaking about Sylvie’s development, the French actress highlighted that she gained complexity over the seasons.

“She’s grown a lot and gained more layers. We’ve seen how vulnerable she is even though she’s very tough. We’ve seen all these things and it’s very enjoyable. She’s interesting and super complex,” he said.

“Let’s find out even more [sobre ela] in part 2 of season 4. A new thing that no one expected she had, a part of her past,” he revealed.

Part 2 of the series’ fourth season premieres on September 12th . Some episodes will be set in Rome.
