Elvis Presley jewelry up for auction with support from Priscilla Presley

A jewelry collection that Elvis Presley gave to his manager, Colonel Tom Parker will be auctioned on August 27.

Two hundred items, including bejeweled gold rings, cufflinks, watches and chains, were gathered by GWS Auctions. Also included is a guitar played by Presley during his famous 1968 TV special.

Most of the pieces were provided by Presley’s ex-wife, Priscilla Presley.

“Well, it brings back memories for sure,” she said in an interview.

Priscilla added that it was a recurring joke with her ex-husband that he would constantly buy or order jewelry for Parker because the businessman already had everything he needed and the Presleys no longer knew what to buy him.

Priscilla Presley said she felt protective of the items because she designed some of them, including artifacts bearing the TCB Band logo, the musicians who formed the central rhythm section of Presley’s backing band in his later years. “TCB” stands for “taking care of business”, a favorite expression of the singer.

Priscilla Presley also decided to support the auction because she was tired of seeing so many fake Elvis artifacts for sale.

“There are so many products out there that are not authentic and that worries me,” she said. “I want to make sure this goes to someone who will care, love.”
