This past Sunday (25), singer Elton John moved his fans and the audience on the last day of the Glastonbury festival, in the United Kingdom.
Broadcast live to thousands of people, the star was very emotional: “I am very happy to be here. It’s a very special and emotional night for me as it could be my last show in England, in Great Britain.”
With 21 songs in the setlist, there was no lack of great hits, such as “Pinball Wizard”, “The Bitch is Back”, “Rocket Man”, “I’m Still Standing”, “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” and the song “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me”, dedicated to singer George Michael.
Other hits were performed with special guests. Pop singer Rina Sawyama sang “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” along with the musician.
The lead singer of The Killers, Brandon Flowers, sang the emblematic “Tiny Dancer”. Another special duet was with singer Jacob Lusk, from the group Gabriels, to sing “Are You Ready For Love”.
Singer Stephen Sanchez, on the other hand, thanked Elton for sharing the stage, while the star played the song “Until I Found You” on the piano.

In the audience, Sir Elton John was applauded by the public, which was attended by his husband David Furnish, and the driver Lewis Hamilton.
Former Beatle, Paul McCartney, also honored his friend and recorded the singer’s great moments on stage.

“Farewell yellow brick road”, is the singer’s farewell to world tours. According to the “BBC” network, it is one of the most profitable in the history of music, with a box office of U$ 887 million, or R$ 4.2 billion.
Started in 2018, some shows were postponed due to covid-19. Now, at the age of 76, Elton intends to end this last European tour, after more than fifty years of career.
On the singer’s website, there are only seven more performances in the year on the agenda. The closing will be in Sweden, on the 8th of July.
To “Mirror”, Elton John even declared the reason for this being his last tour.
“Touring is exhausting right now and takes me away from my family and kids,” he revealed.
Glastonbury Festival
The Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts is an open-air music festival held annually in June in the United Kingdom.
This year, in addition to Elton John, bands like Arctic Monkeys and Guns n’ Roses were present during the three days.
Singer Lizzo, Lana Del Rey and star Lil Nas X also took to the stage to sing their greatest hits.
