The singer Elton John 77, announced that he is dealing with a severe infection in one of his eyes which left him with “partial vision” in one of his eyes. Through social media, the British artist also revealed details of his recovery process.
“Over the summer, I have been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with partial vision in one eye,” he begins his text.
He then goes on to say: “I am recovering, but it is an extremely slow process and it will still take some time before I fully regain vision in the affected eye. I am very grateful to the excellent team of doctors and nurses and to my family who have taken such good care of me over the past few weeks.”
“I’ve been enjoying the summer recovering at home, and I’m feeling optimistic about the progress I’ve made in my recovery so far. With love and gratitude, Elton John,” he concludes.
Although the publication was made early in the afternoon of this Tuesday (2), several fans and admirers have already sent messages of affection. The designer Donatella Versace also wrote: “Sending lots of love, Elton! Get well soon. Love you.”
In July of last year, the owner of “Rocketman” performed his last show of his farewell tour in Stockholm, Sweden. In total, he had a career spanning more than 50 years.
