ELSTAT: 6.6% rise in the price index of new residential construction project categories in the second quarter

The General Price Index of New Residential Construction Project Categories for the 2nd quarter of 2022, compared to the corresponding index of the 2nd quarter of 2021, showed an increase of 6.6%, against a 2.0% increase noted when comparing the corresponding indices of year 2021 to 2020.

According to the data of ELSTAT, the General Index during the second quarter of 2022, compared to the index of the first quarter of 2022, showed an increase of 1.8%, compared to an increase of 0.8% that occurred during the corresponding comparison of the indicators of year 2021.

The average index for the twelve months July 2021 – June 2022, compared to the corresponding index for the twelve months July 2020 – June 2021, showed an increase of 4.7%, against an increase of 0.7% recorded in the corresponding previous twelve months.

The General Price Index of Construction Costs of New Residential Buildings for the 2nd quarter of 2022, compared to the corresponding index for the 2nd quarter of 2021, showed an increase of 8.9%, against a 2.6% increase noted during the corresponding comparison of the indicators of the year 2021 to 2020.

In particular, the annual increase of 8.9% is due to the increase of the Material Price Index by 11.3%, as well as the increase of the Labor Remuneration Price Index by 4.9%.

The General Index during the second quarter of 2022, compared to the index of the first quarter of 2022, showed an increase of 2.9%, against a 1.1% increase noted during the corresponding comparison of the indicators of the year 2021.

In particular, the quarterly increase of 2.9% is due to the increase of the Material Price Index by 3.8% and the increase of the Labor Remuneration Price Index by 1.2%.

The average index for the twelve months July 2021 – June 2022, compared to the corresponding index for the twelve months July 2020 – June 2021, showed an increase of 6.3%, against an increase of 1.0% recorded in the corresponding previous twelve months.
