Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk will reveal the third part of the automaker’s “master plan” during an investor meeting scheduled for March 1.
Musk’s plans chart a path for Tesla to achieve specific goals he sets for the world’s most valuable automaker.
“Master Plan 3, the path to a fully sustainable energy future for Earth, will be unveiled on March 1st,” Musk wrote on Twitter this Wednesday (8).
In early 2022, the electric vehicle maker started production at two new plants in Austin, Texas, and Berlin to increase production, but faced logistical and demand issues towards the end of the year.
The billionaire had said at Tesla’s annual shareholder meeting last August that the third part of his plan “would be fundamentally about scale,” both in terms of car production and the supply chain that supports it.
At the next investor day to be held at the company’s Texas plant, Tesla is expected to discuss expansion plans, capital allocation and its third-generation platform for cars, which is expected to reduce production costs.
In the second part of the plan, Musk said he wanted to expand Tesla’s product lineup to serve all major vehicle segments and develop autonomous driving capability.
At the time, Tesla also envisaged creating solar-harvesting roofs tied to storing the generated electricity in batteries, allowing cars to generate money for owners by selling unused energy when not in use.
