Archbishop of El Salvador Jose Luis Escobar called on Sunday President Nagib Bouquel not to turn the country into a “huge international prison” to Guantanamo’s standards, following his agreements with his US counterpart. Visiting the White House last week, the bouquet sealed his alliance with Trump, with which the US will be able to send hundreds of deported, mainly Venezuelanes, to the colossal prison of the highest security and a capacity of 40,000 prisoners. In order to move on to deportations, Trump cited a 1798 law on “foreign enemies” used only in times of war. “We ask our authorities not to allow our country to become a major international prison,” the Archbishop of San San San San San San San San Salvador, Jose Luis Escobar, said at a press conference.
