Tomorrow and then will be better. We are still facing some fuel issues … but we will overcome those too,” Erdogan concluded after visiting camps set up by AFAD, Turkey’s disaster relief agency.
As he added, citizens should listen to information only from the authorities and ignore the provocateurs as thousands of people complain about the lack of media and the slow reaction of the authorities.
The government aims to build houses within a year for those left homeless in the ten affected provinces, the president announced. The most devastating earthquake in decades caused damage to hospitals, airports and roads and the collapse of more than 6,400 buildings.
