Earthquake in Turkey: More than 1,700 dead in Syria – “The number will increase dramatically”

At least 1,712 are dead and thousands injured in Syria from the killer vibrations and the aftershocks which were centered on the neighboring Turkeythe authorities and rescue crews announced today.

The state news agency Sana reported that in the provinces of Aleppo, Lattakia, Hama, Idlib and Tartus, areas controlled by the Syrian regime, the dead are at least 812 and the wounded 1,449.

Moreover, according to the White Helmets, the non-governmental organization of rescuers active in the areas controlled by the anti-regime rebels, the dead in northwestern Syria are at least 900 and the wounded exceed 2,300. These numbers are expected that “will increase dramatically”, warned the organization according to the Athens News Agency.
