Venezuela is ruled by a dictator, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said tonight, without mentioning Nicolas Maduro by name. “I know very well, Venezuela is now ruled by a dictator,” he said in an interview on the Kick platform. After the July 28 election, the electoral council declared Maduro the winner, with 51 percent, but the opposition claims fraud and that based on its own count, Edmundo Gonzalez won the election, with 67 percent. In that interview, Trump went on to say that crime rates have dropped drastically in Venezuela because they “took their criminal evidence and brought it to the U.S.,” referring to President Joe Biden’s border security policy. “They are drug dealers, they are criminals. They are murderers, they are rapists. They were all taken to the U.S.,” Trump said, without providing any proof of his claims. Source: RES
