In May 2021, Aurus Motors began mass production of Aurus cars at the plant in Yelabuga, investing about 2 billion rubles for this. The production of the Senat executive sedan is carried out at this production facility, and later it is planned to start production of the Komendant SUV. Production facilities in the SEZ “Alabuga” are designed to produce up to 5 thousand cars per year.
At the same time, the production of Ford Transit commercial vehicles at the Yelabuga plant has been suspended for an indefinite period since March 3 due to the relevant decision of Ford Motor Company.
