It is true that Halloween is very close and that we love the idea of dressing up, but playing pranks on others does not convince all of us, especially when it comes to the fact that the “victims” of pranks are people who are too sensitive, like it is the elderly or small children.
We remember this because, recently, we learned of the prank that the employee of a daycare center in the United States played on the little ones while they were in one of the classrooms, because it scared them so much that they made them cry out of fear.
Due to some viral videos, we were able to see how the employee of the Lil’ Blessings Child Care and Learning Center nursery, from the city of Hamilton, Mississippi, scared a group of children when she put on a Ghostface-style mask, the well-known villain of the saga Scream, and began to persecute some of the minors.
As if that were not enough, according to local media, it was reported that this was not the first time that the caregiver had done this joke, since she had already done it last September. In addition, on that occasion part of the ranch staff was also involved.
After the videos became popular, the venue management took action on the matter. Of course, the owner of the children’s center did not agree with the educator’s action.
As reported by the chain WTVA, the director and owner of the ranch fired the worker who used the mask to scare part of the children. Additionally, at least three other employees involved lost their jobs.
On the other hand, through a Facebook video, the former employee gave her version of the events and explained why she did it. The educator, identified as CeeeCee, stated that other workers on the ranch convinced her to use her mask as a way to reprimand children who were misbehaving.
In addition, he assured that his intention was not to disturb the little ones and that even after the scare he caused them to go through, he removed his mask and entered the room saying that “the monster had gone”.
I did not do it with the intention of harming anyone or with bad intentions. The teachers asked me if I could do it or if they could use the mask so that [los niños] listen to your classes… I’m not a child molester… What you all didn’t see was that after I left the room, I took off my mask, went back to the classroom and said, ‘CeeCee has the monster. She’s not coming back.’ And they hugged me. I’ve known those kids their whole lives.
Despite their version of events and the possible behavior of the students, we must consider the crying that is perceived in the videos, since the great scare they received is evident. Besides, there was probably no need to make or continue the cruel prank.
