Startup MetaBrewSociety (MBS) plans to establish beer production in Munich, Germany, and provide management to NFT holders, gathered in an autonomous decentralized organization.
Company plans issue non-fungible tokens that give owners the right to vote in the management of a real brewery.
MBS was founded in February by a group of brewing investors and NFT entrepreneurs. They came up with the idea to combine the brewery with the metaverse, the DAO, and the NFT to create a real-world tangible utility that also had digital value for participants.
As part of the project, the company will offer several tokenized “beer share” certificates that will give their owners various levels of rights to manage a physical brewery in Munich. In the future, the brewery will also appear in the metaverse. The Sandbox platform is being considered as a potential location.
The NFTs will entitle the holder to 100 free beers per year, and the sale of the NFTs will help fund the purchase and scale of the brewery. After the purchase of a physical brewery, the project will be reorganized into a DAO, consisting of holders of non-fungible tokens.
According to co-founder and CEO Holger Mannweiler (Holger Mannweiler), DAO will play an important role in business management and research on consumer tastes. The main business decisions will lie with the DAO – what kind of beer to brew, where to sell, and so on.
In total, MBC intends to issue 6,000 NFTs in two phases, with whitelisted participants going first. The exact launch date has not yet been announced, but the company says that this will happen in the near future. After 75% of the NFTs are released, the company will buy the real brewery and rename it MetaBrewery.
Previously, Insurtech Lemonade formed the Lemonade Crypto Climate coalition, which will offer services to agribusinesses from the most vulnerable corners of the world. The coalition is being created as a decentralized autonomous organization to insure farmers.
